Overview of the Youth Policy Board’s Role

The primary function of the Youth Policy Board is to govern the Youth Assembly, orchestrating discussions on pivotal food and agriculture topics while formulating youth policy positions. This cohort will coordinate regional activities, ensuring strategic direction during key events and the annual flagship WFF event. The Youth Assembly itself serves as a platform to stimulate dialogue on regional and thematic concerns, drafting opinions and organizing activities for the WFF Youth Action Track.

Previous Engagements and Highlights

In 2023, the Youth Assembly bore witness to an increased engagement of young leaders, fostering inclusivity and active participation in discussions on crucial policy priorities. This convergence resulted in identifying pivotal themes such as education, collaboration across sectors, and climate action’s integration into agrifood systems transformation.

Shreyaa Venkat, a Youth Policy Board member and founder of NEST4US, highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization and inclusive representation in driving equitable agrifood systems transformation.

Opportunity Offered by WFF YPB

Joining the WFF YPB offers numerous benefits, including co-leading discussions at the Youth Assembly, networking with global changemakers, limited travel support to attend flagship events at FAO Headquarters in Rome, and engagement in capacity-building initiatives.
